Farpoint Films & Middle Child Films announced today that Season One of The Illegal Eater, the behind the scenes look at underground restaurants across North America hosted by Steven Page, has been sold to multiple territories including Esquire Network (USA), Discovery (Asia & Pac Rim) and True Corp (Thailand) by sales agent Rive Gauche Television.
Hosted by singer/songwriter and food adventurer Steven Page, each episode features two cities and two amazing underground restaurants including cities like New York, Chicago, Austin, Toronto and Los Angeles.
“I am really excited that Esquire Network will be presenting The Illegal Eater in the US – they are the perfect partner for this show, opening up a whole new set of experiences to an audience looking for daring and fun new adventures. Plus, my American friends and family can finally see what I’ve been telling them I do for a living!” said Steven Page, who is currently prepping the release of his second solo album.
Season One finds Steven crisscrossing North America and assisting chefs, mixing it up with the locals, playing shows and eating such delicacies as fertilized duck embryos, horse tartar and Hand Grenades from New Orleans.
“We have been overwhelmed with interest from hungry viewers in the US and are thrilled to have Season One of The Illegal Eater airing on Esquire Network,” said Farpoint Films producer Kyle Bornais.
Rive Gauche Television will continue sales at MIPTV on April 7-10 in Cannes, France.
Season One of The Illegal Eater premiered in Canada on Travel+Escape this past fall.
The Illegal Eater is co-produced by Farpoint Films and Middle Child Films, and distributed internationally by Rive Gauche Television. The creative team includes show creators Chris Charney and Scott R. Leary, director John Barnard, and producers Kyle Bornais, Scott R. Leary and Tony Wosk.
